Nagasaki Station coin lockers and luggage storage

You may be thinking of shopping and sightseeing at Nagasaki Station, which has Amu Plaza, a shopping center directly connected to the station, as well as World Heritage-listed sights.

Nagasaki is also known as a city of slopes, with many places having steep inclines, so if you are traveling and have a lot of luggage, you will get tired moving around as you are.

There are no luggage storage facilities at Nagasaki Station, so it is better to leave your luggage in a coin locker.

List of coin locker locations at Nagasaki Station

Nagasaki Station has two coin locker locations.

When you leave the ticket gate, there is an east exit and a west exit, each with a large number of coin lockers, one at each location.

You may think that there are only two locations and therefore not many, but rest assured that there are quite a few.

We also checked availability on weekdays and found many places available.

At Nagasaki Station, coin-operated lockers are only available outside the ticket gates, not inside. We even searched and checked inside, but could not find any.

From here, I will introduce what each coin locker at Nagasaki Station looks like with pictures.

Location and size of coin lockers at Nagasaki Station

All coin-operated lockers at Nagasaki Station are subject to a charge.
There are no free coin lockers.

If you want to leave your luggage for free, just bring it to the hotel where you are staying in advance or ask them to keep it for you after you check out.

Coin Lockers at East Exit (Seagull Exit)

The East Exit (Kamome Exit) is the exit on the right after you leave the ticket gates.

The tram, bus terminal and Amu Plaza Nagasaki are located at the East Exit, so this is the exit you will pass through.

Immediately after exiting the East Exit, turn right and walk about 50 meters to the back where you will find a large number of coin lockers. You may be worried that there is not much else to do, but there are coin machines.

Also, the availability was excellent and most of the lockers were empty.

Coin-operated lockers costing 600 yen or more will hold a suitcase.

The coin-operated lockers at the east exit accept both cash and Transportation System IC cards.

Coin Lockers at West Exit (Inasa Exit)

Coin lockers at the West Exit ( Inasa Exit) can be found by turning left after leaving the ticket gates.

Like the East Exit, there is a room dedicated to the coin lockers, and there are more coin lockers here than at the East Exit.

Convenience should be no better than at the east exit, but for some reason more coin machines were used at the west exit.

All coin lockers at the west exit of Nagasaki Station are for cash only. There is also a currency exchange machine, so it is not that inconvenient.

Most coin-operated lockers are medium or large and are designed to accommodate suitcases.

You can avoid paying unnecessarily by choosing a coin-operated locker based on the size of your suitcase.

Notes on using coin lockers at Nagasaki Station

You can use the coin-operated lockers at Nagasaki Station for up to three days. They are located outside and can be used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

After midnight, you will be charged for one day.

Please note that if you leave your items for more than 4 days, they will be moved to another location. In this case, they will keep it for up to 30 days.

Coin lockers at “Nagasaki Kaido Kamome Ichiba” across from Nagasaki Station

There are also a small number of coin-operated lockers in the back of the Nagasaki Kaido Kamome Market, across from the Nagasaki Station ticket gates, where there is a well-stocked souvenir shop and restaurants.

The coin-operated lockers at the Nagasaki Kaido Kamome Market are a hole-in-the-wall location.

If the coin-operated lockers introduced so far are unavoidably used, check to see if this location is available.

Payment is by cash only.

Luggage storage at Nagasaki Station is available at the Tourist Information Center.

The Tourist Information Center at Nagasaki Station offers a service where you can check in your luggage between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and have it delivered to one of 19 designated accommodations in the city by 6:00 p.m.

Each item can be checked in for 1,000 yen.
