Minami Otaru Station is on the JR Hakodate Main Line. The atmosphere of the small station building, built in the middle of a hill, is tasteful.
A five-minute walk will take you to the famous sightseeing spot “Mercure Crossing,” and the retro streetscape of “Otaru Sakai-cho Street” leading from there is a popular spot. Lutao, a pastry store famous for its cheesecakes, is also located here.
Otaru has many hills, so please leave your heavy luggage in a coin locker and enjoy walking around town.
