On this page, I’d like to introduce the coin locker information of Amu Plaza Hakata.
This commercial facility is located near Hakata Station, so it is a good place to find a hole in the ground.
Three coin lockers at Amu Plaza Hakata
There are three coin-operated lockers at Amu Plaza Hakata.
They are located on the 3rd, 9th and 10th floors.
The 9th and 10th floors are particularly inexpensive coin-operated lockers that can be used for up to 3 hours for free, although it is a bit of a hassle to get to them.
Coin Lockers on the 3rd floor
There are a large number of coin-operated lockers near the connecting passage to Hakata Hankyu.

- 300 yen small: 32 pieces
- 500 yen medium: 17 pieces
- 600 yen large: 63 pieces
They are generally cheaper than other coin-operated lockers at Hakata Station.
Travelers are also advised to use the many large coin-operated lockers where they can leave their suitcases.
Even on the Sunday morning when I checked, people were coming in continuously. However, not all of them were used, perhaps because it is a hole in the ground.
▼Only coins are accepted as payment.
However, there is an exchange machine for 1,000 yen bills, so it is easy to use.

Hours of operation are from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
[Free for 3 hours]Coin-operated lockers on the 9th floor
The coin-operated lockers on the 9th floor of Amu Plaza Hakata are free for the first three hours.
Insert a 100 yen coin to get a key, and it will be returned to you within 3 hours. If you use it longer than that, you will be charged.
There are three coin-operated lockers on the 9th floor.

Coin-operated locker charges for over 3 hours are as follows
- Small size: 500 yen
- Medium size: 600 yen
- Large size: 800 yen
These charges are added every 12 hours.
The medium size is quite large, so suitcases can be adequately checked here.
The maximum usage time is 72 hours.
[Free for 3 hours]Coin-operated lockers on the 10th floor
On the 10th floor of Amu Plaza Hakata, there are three coin-operated lockers of the same type as those on the 9th floor.
If you put 100 yen in the locker, you can use it for free for 3 hours. 100 yen will be refunded later.
I checked both the 9th and 10th floors, and the 10th floor seemed a little more empty than the 9th floor (I guess it depends on the day).

There is also a change machine, so even if you do not have 100 yen, a 1,000 yen bill will do.
There is a charge for using the coin locker for more than 3 hours.
- Small size: 500 yen
- Medium size: 600 yen
- Large size: 800 yen
These charges are also added every 12 hours as on the 9th floor.
The maximum usage time is 72 hours.
