Toya Station is on the JR Muroran Line. It takes about 20 minutes from the station to Lake Toya by bus.
There are many attractions around Lake Toya, including souvenir shops, hot spring bathhouses where you can take a day trip, sightseeing boats, and the Volcano Science Museum. If you have a lot of luggage, try using coin lockers.
Coin Lockers at Toya Station
Coin-operated lockers at Toya Station are located to the left as you exit the ticket gates.

- 500 yen: 5 pieces
- 600 yen: 10 pieces
- 700 yen: 4 pieces
Suitcases can be placed in the 600-yen and 700-yen lockers; the 700-yen lockers come in two sizes, one long and one wide.
Payment is in coins only; Suica and other transportation system IC cards are not accepted.
There are no exchange machines nearby, so be sure to have some coins ready beforehand.
Notes on using coin lockers at Toya Station
Coin-operated lockers at Toya Station are available for a maximum of three days.
A daily fee will be charged for every 24 hours of use.
If you leave your items for more than 4 days, they will be moved to another location and disposed of after 30 days of storage.
Extra: Coin Lockers at Toyako Onsen Station (Bus Station)
Take the Donan Bus leaving from Toya Station to “Toyako Onsen” station, and you will arrive at the bus waiting area.
The coin lockers here are quite inexpensive, as they can hold a suitcase for 300 yen.
They are only available for same-day use from 9:00 to 21:00, but if you can bring your luggage here, it is more economical to leave it here.
